Promise of Hybrid Meetings by DeDe Mulligan

There are hybrid cars, bikes, and golf clubs. But meetings? How will that look and why should you consider it?

Just like everything else, blending face-to-face and online/virtual events will probably be the future for meetings, conferences, conventions, and trade shows.

For Christopher Gribbs, managing director of conference services, at The American Institute of Architects (AIA), the "aha moment" for the potential of hybrid meetings came at the 2009 AIA Annual Conference in San Francisco. AIA had about 22,400 people registered to attend the live meeting, down about 7% from the previous year in Boston. But when the 5,500 virtual registrants were included, AIA wound up with a record number of registrants!

Benefits of Online/Virtual Events

· Participants can log in anywhere in the world and can be part of an event they might not normally attend due to budget and time constraints.

· By archiving sessions, attendees can access online that session throughout the year.

· Exhibitors can be given virtual booth space.

· Most venues have the ability to allow for live broadcasts from the meeting.

· Speakers are often pleased with the virtual component because they know people are watching. They will often get access to an audience that they could not have reached before.

So Why Go Hybrid?

What percentage of your potential audience comes to your physical event? With an association, this number is easy. Just divide your total attendance by your total membership. With a corporate event, you need to consider how many individuals will need to fly or drive to the event, plus hotel and meals expenses. If the attendee number is low for the association and/or the cost to bring people to the event is high, consider a hybrid event.

What is the financial position of your attendees? Are they losing their jobs and getting laid off? Are firms closing their doors? Are people doing more with less? Again, looking at the overall picture of your attendees will influence whether a hybrid event makes sense.

"Within three to five years, I would say, most conference services associations will be moving to a three-dimensional immersive virtual platform to provide greater value to their membership," says Mike Westcott, vice president of marketing at InXpo. "It still doesn't give you the face-to-face engagement that is so valuable to people and it's never going to displace live meetings, but it is a wonderful complement to existing events."

The Blunder Of Honda's Great Gas Mileage

From its inception, Honda Motor Co. has been more concerned with fuel economy and emissions than any other manufacturer. This has been evident since Honda entered America's automobile market in 1971 with the "n600." This was a 2-cylinder car that easily achieved 45 miles-per-gallon. They have repeatedly had at least one model of automobile, per generation that has superior gas mileage. These range from the CVCC, the CRX HF, the Civic VX, and most recently the Insight Hybrid.
In the last decade, however, Honda appears to have departed its small car and gas mileage roots in search of bigger profits. The change coincides with the death of Soichiro Honda, the founder of Honda Automotive. When Soichiro Honda died in 1991, an observable change in Honda's business model and priorities surfaced.
With the change of priorities, the economical cars by which Honda was known vanished, only to be replaced by giant trucks, vans, SVUs, and luxury cars that would make our grandparents jealous. The company that was once known for making "those little cars" became the company that made "those big cars." The new Honda appeared to be in direction opposition of what the old Honda was about.
When Honda was busy making giant money-makers, Toyota decided to take a chance and develop something truly amazing: the full-sized hybrid. While Honda later followed suit with a smaller commuter vehicle, it was too late. Toyota had the hearts and minds of people who cared about fuel economy, emissions, and safety. The name Honda reminded people of the giant Odyssey, or the once small but now large Civic. Toyota, on the other hand, sparked images of the clean, efficient Prius and the all electric RAV4.
Honda is now trying to clean up its image, by producing a version of the Civic that runs on natural gas, and even introducing the first commercially available hydrogen-powered vehicle. While these are all giant steps in the right direction, Honda still has a long way to go to make up for a decade of bad decisions.
Honda jumping on the big car bandwagon proved to be a mistake, one which has affected Hondas market share ever since. Profits may be up, but consumer confidence is down, at least compared to Toyota. The history and good name of Honda will definitely help it get back on top of the efficiency game, assuming that they still want the honor. It will prove difficult, however, to win the back the hearts and minds of people after such a disappointing blunder.

Hybrid Motor Parts and Preventive Maintenance

The performance of most cars is calibrated according a particular kind of terrain, sometimes even level ground. The maintenance required is also estimated by the same method as not all of us use the same type of terrain, your car may need a little more or a little less maintenance. Preventative maintenance is hence the best way to keep your car in good shape and make it last longer. Since the structure of a hybrid car is fairly complex compared to a regular car, only trained personnel should work on certain components, such as the power train. However, basic maintenance similar to that performed on standard cars, such as changing the oil, can still be done by you.
The basic parts of any hybrid car will include the battery pack, internal combustion engine, automated clutch, electric machine, a second automated clutch, motor winding equipment, drives, etc. As hybrids have two engines, one will run with gasoline and another on electricity, it will also have two sets of drives. Along with all this, it will need a control unit that will switch the car from gasoline drive to electric drive whenever the conditions are right.
The electric parts of the car will also include indicators on the dashboard that note the battery charge and fuel levels, along with the other usual parameters. All these parts will need checking and maintenance to some degree. However, hybrid batteries will last very long and typically need no maintenance. In fact, they're usually covered under an 8 year warranty, which should keep you worry free, as the battery is generally the most expensive part in the hybrid car. An extended warranty is also something one can go for as it helps you save a lot if something should go wrong with your car beyond the first 8 years.
Servicing should be done as instructed by the manufacturer which includes replacing oil, cleaning air filters, etc. Clean air filters increase the fuel efficiency and the performance of your car. As the ultimate purpose of the hybrid car is to save fuel and reduce emissions, keeping the car in top condition will help achieve your goal. The first parts that come with the factory packaging will be replaced as per the manufacturer's directions during the servicing. Most of them need replacement after a certain number of miles. The initial few replacements may be covered under warranty but these parts don't cost much unlike the hybrid car battery.
The hybrid car also has a generator which makes use of braking energy to charge the battery. The drive train of a hybrid car, including the hybrid car motor, needs a lot of expertise for repairing or replacing in general. It is best to go to an authorized dealer with your car than the local auto repair shop as there is a chance they can damage it further. Buying a hybrid car is the least you can do for the environment and by keeping it in good condition will not only help the performance but will also increase its lifespan. A well kept car will also fetch more in the used car market.

Bergen County, NJ used GLK drivers ready for next wave of Mercedes cars by Roscoe Roberts

We've all heard that good things come in small packages. Now Mercedes will prove it with new line of small-sized luxury vehicles, which will debut next year with the C-Class Coupe. Some adapted B-Class models will follow in 2012 and 2013.
Rockland County, NY used GLK dealers are stoked about the new line and believe that buyers will be as well. Mercedes-Benz has recently wowed luxury car fans with its improved S-Class and more plans for green cars.
"Everyone want to be Mercedes-Benz," claimed Ernst Lieb, CEO of Mercedes-Benz USA. He's probably right. This new line also will allow Mercedes to compete with some brands that it currently does not directly compete with model-to-model.
Here's what some of the models may look like. The B-Class coupe, crossover and sedan versions, set to arrive in the U.S. in 2012 and 2013, will have the distinction of being the first front-wheel drive cars sold by Mercedes stateside. They will be given a makeover, refining the profile from its boxy B-Class look and leaning more toward something that would sell well here - like the BlueZero concept car shown at the 2009 Detroit Auto Show.
These models also may receive a different tag, something fresh other than B-Class. They are, though, expected to run on four-cylinder engines, developed in a partnership with Renault-Nissan. These engines are being designed with turbos and direct injection. Bergen County, NJ used GLK customers should find the power more than adequate for these smaller vehicles.
Coming even sooner, is the F cell. By the end of this year, Mercedes-Benz should have its electric fuel cell version of the European B Class here in the U.S. market. They won't be for sale yet, though, as test marketing will take place in California because of a large number of available charging stations. Mercedes hopes to tests 100 of these vehicles, which has a 240-mile range. Wow! That puts some other brands' electrics to shame.
Also, expect a redesign on the C-Class for 2013. Maybe even a crossover and a convertible, as well as the whole family getting four-cylinder engines. The good news for us is that they will be built right here in the good ol' USA in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Rockland County, NY used GLK buyers will feel even better about purchasing a U.S.-built Mercedes.
The S-Class has a new S63 version with a 5.5-liter biturbo engine and will be available in November. True auto enthusiasts will be lined up for that one. The S class also will get a full hybrid in 2013 in the U.S. Mercedes-Benz is making over the SLK and SL models for 2011 and the GLK will be freshened in 2012, with a full GL redesign in 2013.
One really interesting line of the Mercedes-Benz fleet, the G-Class, as a military-style vehicle with a V8, G550 engine, and the Sprinter, a commercial is powered by a V6 diesel. A new Crew Van which seats five will be available within a few weeks and the MiniBus, a van seating up to 16, will go on sale sometime in 2011. Bergen County, NJ used GLK dealers are excited about all of these new lines.

Vehicle Motor Drive System Technology And Industry Ready To Go by jekky

Motor vehicle drive system requirements are higher performance, higher density, the volume-weight ratio, higher temperature tolerance range, and can withstand intense vibration and more low cost. To meet the more stringent requirements of even the harsh, automotive motor drive technology development tendency can be summarized as permanent magnet, digitalization and integration.

Electric vehicle motor drive system is different from the ordinary fans, pumps and other industrial applications. Vehicles used by the space constraints and environmental constraints, vehicle required motor drive system has a higher performance, higher density, the volume-weight ratio, higher tolerance to environmental temperature range (liquid cooling inlet temperature> 105 ), can withstand high intensity such as vibration and lower cost. To meet the more stringent requirements of even the harsh, automotive motor drive technology development tendency can be summarized as permanent magnet, digitalization and integration. Permanent magnet technology to provide efficient

Permanent magnet motor with high efficiency than power, power factor, high reliability and easy maintenance and so on, using vector-controlled frequency control system, permanent magnet motor can have a wide speed range, therefore, to Toyota Motor and Honda Motor as the representative of the international and domestic manufacturers of FAW, Dongfeng, Chang'an, Chery and other manufacturers are used in electric vehicles in its permanent magnet motor program, and promoted to the permanent magnet motor vehicle in the direction of development.

Permanent magnet motor main materials, components are neodymium iron boron magnets, electrical steel and high-speed bearings. Since entering the 21st century, our country more than 20% annual growth rate of magnetic materials industry. According to preliminary statistics, in 2004 reached 27,510 tons NdFeB permanent magnet (81% of global total), bonded NdFeB to 1350 tons (accounting for 35% of the global total). Materials for manufacturing motor cores, electrical steel is the most important magnetic materials in general, is highly efficient motor vehicles, the protection of high power density, the cost of accounting for the cost of the motor body 20%. It is reported that Japan's Sumitomo Electric 0.27mm thick electrical steel production has been used in hybrid electric drive motor, the Baosteel Group of China "863" project support, carried out from 2008 electric vehicle drive motor with electric steel R & D, China vehicle drive motor system is expected in the near future efficient use of domestic electrical steel. In addition, to ensure that electric vehicles after 20 km and can withstand severe cold and heat is still running, motor vehicle still needs to invest in developing high-speed bearings, developed by our country the majority of motor drive system adopts imported high-speed bearings.

Is the trend of digital inverter

In electric vehicles, fuel cell or battery by a DC can be provided by one or more inverter to convert AC power-driven permanent magnet motor sports, including motor vehicle by the inverter and controller motor control circuit. So far, as most electric cars lower than the DC voltage 600V, three-phase inverter are used the two-level structure and 1200V IGBT modules under which the core device IGBT inverter and the capacitance of the costs account for motor control devices cost more than 50%. In hybrid electric vehicle applications, in order to simplify the cooling system to reduce vehicle costs, vehicle motor drive system is presented coolant inlet temperature higher than 105 the requirements of this request except to improve the electrical insulation and neodymium iron boron magnets grade, the market widely used IGBT junction temperature 150 can not meet the requirements, the need to use junction temperature of 175 IGBT, and careful design of high heat transfer efficiency of the radiator system.

Salt Lake City Used Highlander drivers can expect better fuel efficiency from Toyota by Roscoe Roberts

As if the Prius hasn't made a big enough dent in the fuel economy of the world, Toyota continues its power-saving innovations with plans to increase the average fuel efficiency of its fleet by up to 25 percent before 2015. This will assure that buyers of Salt Lake City used cars and new cars will be driving vehicles that meet or exceed the higher government standards that will be in place by then.
Toyota is banking on hybrid and electric cars garnering a wider share of the market. Since it has led the way in this technology and its plug-in Prius is set to go on the market by 2012, Toyota certainly has a head start on alternative energy solutions and their practical implementation.
Toyota will go wherever it needs to in order to develop necessary technology. The company recently announced a partnership with Tesla to develop a battery-powered RAV4. The goal of the Japanese auto maker, in fact, is to sell tens of thousands of plug-in hybrids annually worldwide. The fully electric car sales are not expected to be as high, but who knows where they will go eventually.
Salt Lake City used Highlander buyers will appreciate that Toyota's plug-in can be recharged in a traditional household outlet and uses a lithium-ion battery. The car can run solely on battery power for about 14 miles before the gasoline engine must be used. Even with great fuel economy, about 134 mpg, the goal is to up the distance the car can run on battery power alone.
Some competitors have developed vehicles that have ranges of close to 100 miles on sheer battery power. This distance is important for those who commute to work or want to be able to purchase a fully-electric car that can get them farther than around the block.
No doubt Toyota will catch up in the electric-only arena as well. Currently, the company is testing the Prius plug-in around the globe, with many being driving by university staff, government employees and corporate representatives in various cities. Information from their driving experiences is being collected and analyzed to help Toyota improve the plug-in model before it goes on the market.
Buyers of Salt Lake City used cars will want to get familiar with the battery-only vehicles, as Toyota estimates they will make up about 10 percent of the world's car market by the year 2020. So we safely assume that the drive range for a single charge will increase for Toyota's models in order to keep up with the competition and maybe even dominate the market as they have done with Prius and the hybrid market.
In the meantime, Toyota has the goal to sell one million hybrid cars each year and the company is well on its way. Salt Lake City used Highlander customers will likely help Toyota reach that goal.

Chicago Lexus IS F drivers looking with interest at Lexus LS 600h L Hybrid by Huey Farley

I'm a man who loves his luxury cars. I'm also a man who loves progress, and you don't have to go much farther than the Lexus and Toyota brands to get some progress. It's great to see that your Chicago Lexus dealer is putting efficiency and eco-friendliness on the forefront of its agenda, with cars that are built off of the Prius hybrid platform. You of course have heard of the Prius, one of the first hybrid cars of its kinds and still one of the most fuel efficient cars on the market. Lexus has been delving into hybrid technology over the past couple of years, launching so really exciting new vehicles in the past year. Now, we're going to see even more efficiency coming out of the hybrid scene for the Lexus brand, and Chicago Lexus IS F dealers are going to get a lot of it.
As a hybrid car, a lot of drivers may be quick to judge the LS 600h - but I can assure that it is a car unrivaled by anything on the market, especially in the luxury segment. Chicago Lexus IS F dealers understand that luxury drivers want efficiency but not at the expense of power. That is why the LS 600h will kick the heat up a notch by providing a solid combination of power and efficiency, while offering up the same comfort and class that you would expect from any Lexus vehicle. In fact, the new Lexus trumps just about anything on the market right now, whether from BMW, Mercedes or Infiniti, and the brand that has been slowly creeping up on the luxury market is starting to be a little less quiet about its progress. Your Chicago Lexus dealer is proud of its brand and expects quite a year behind the power of the new LS 600h through an important combo of efficiency and power.
According to the press release announcing the LS 600h, the cars we expect to see coming out in the next year will be huge winners for your Chicago Lexus IS F dealer. "The LS 600h L powertrain uses two motor generators: MG1 and MG2. Each performs specific functions and can operate as either a motor or a generator, although MG1 is used as a starter motor and provides no motive force. The engine-driven generator, MG1, can charge the battery pack or provide additional power to the drive motor, MG2, as needed. A regenerative-braking system further boosts efficiency. When the vehicle is coasting or the brakes are applied, the electric motors function as generators, capturing kinetic energy that would normally be lost as heat through the brakes and transforming it into useable electricity to recharge the batteries." This is huge news for your Chicago Lexus dealer as we roll into the 2011 model year and beyond.
How do you feel about the way Lexus has grown as a brand? If you're anything like us, you understand that the market is only going to continue to evolve over the next couple of years.

Honda- Safety First by Ant Bradshaw

The Honda CR-Z has been rated one of Europe's safest cars, achieving the maximum 5 star rating in the latest independent crash testing results from Euro NCAP. The rating system of NCAP focuses on the car vehicle's overall safety performance which gives consumers an easy to understand single score. The system considers occupant protection in frontal, side, pole and rear impacts, child protection, pedestrian protection as well as the availability of driver aids.
The CR-Z is the latest in a series of Honda cars to receive top marks. Since the introduction of the new rating scheme, Euro NCAP has tested four other Honda models - the Civic, Accord, Jazz and the Insight. All five models achieved the prestigious 5 star rating, with the Insight being named the 'Safest Hybrid Vehicle' as well as the second safest vehicle of 2009, behind the Volkswagen Golf.
The key safety features of the Honda CR-Z is categorised below: Vehicle Stability Assist Vehicle Stability Assist (VCA) is designed to assist the driver in keeping control during cornering, acceleration and sudden manoeuvres by applying braking assistance to any of the wheels as necessary and controlling the engine torque output as required. Braking 14-inch ventilated front and solid rear disc brakes ensure road stability, which is furthered by the ABS, Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD) and Brake assist. Advanced Compatibility Engineering (ACE) The ACE body structure is a Honda exclusive body design that enhances passenger protection and crash compatibility in frontal collisions. The ACE design uses an arrangement of connected structural elements to distribute crash energy more evenly throughout the front of the vehicle. It also helps to reduce the forces transferred to the passenger compartment and can help to disperse the forces transferred to other vehicles more evenly. Pedestrian Protection Pedestrian protection is also on the agenda of the CR-Z creators, with many features to keep them as safe as possible if hit. Some of the features on the CR-Z include - windscreen wiper pivots, which are designed to break away on impact; bonnet hinges and an area beneath the bonnet that is unobstructed, allowing greater space for deformation. Airbags and Seatbelts As well as the driver and passenger airbags in front and at the side of the cabin, there is also a full length curtain airbag to protect all occupants. There are three-point Emergency Locking Retractor (ELR) seatbelts in all seating positions, the front seatbelts also have two stage energy absorption load limiting pre-tensioners. On top of all of this, in the rear, ISOFIX points ensure secure and correct installation of any child seats. Active Headrests Honda's newest edition is equipped with active headrests in the front to reduce the likelihood of neck injury in rear impacts. As the driver/passenger is pushed against the seat back, a rigid plate in the seat presses a link to the headrest pushing it up and forward to support the head. With all of these safety precautions that Honda have taken, it is no wonder the new CR-Z has been given the 5 star rating. There are touches of complete genius in there which will most certainly save lives.

Hydrogen Fuel Cell Cars - The Future Car by Jason Tyler

With all the new technology out there where should we turn for the future car. One of the speculations to this is hydrogen fuel cel cars. Even though this technology has been around since the 1950's. We are just know beginning to see the potential in using hydrogen fuel cell technology as a way to power our cars. Major automobile manufactures have been playing with the likely hood of using a fuel cell for over a decade now.
Ford alone was one of the first to begin designing a hydrogen fuel cell. Although ford was not able to build a design that was small enough to place in the current vehicles. The fuel cell they designed was so awfully huge the needed to try and redesign the car around their fuel cell design. The one thing for did not count for was making Hybrid Hydrogen fuel cell cars. Instead they where looking gor a way to build a fuel cell itself and power the car only on hydrogen. This design would be great except for think of the Hindenburg blimp. This was the first hydrogen vehicle and we all know what happened to that.
What many enthusiast have discovered is it is possible to add a fuel cell design small enough to fit on the smallest of vehicles. Here is how these hydrogen fuel cell cars work. By adding a small 1-2qrt sized water storage device with an electrolysis system inside it. They where able to extract from the water what is known as hho gas (aka hydroxy gas, Klein fuel, Browns gas, and many other names hadded to it). Then this gas passes through a bubbler system and is forced into the air intake. Once the hho gas is in the air intake it simply mixes with the air and gas in the combustion chamber set to be ignited by the spark plugs.
These hydrogen fuel cell systems can be made a number of different ways. They can also work with any gas or diesel powered engine. As complicated as this may sound it is really quite simple. With the many hydrogen fuel cell kits available on the market. One needs to be advised to by with care. I have personally tested hundreds of these hydrogen fuel cell cars systems. Some produced better then expected while others well lets just say not so good. This is not to mention that some of the designs where simply way to complicated to build. Before purchasing any hydrogen fuel cell cars system on the internet be sure to do your research first.

How Hydrogen Fuel Cars Technology Work by Jason Tyler

Did you know Hydrogen fuel cars are becoming more and more popular every single day. You may have already seen a few of these cars on the road today and not even known. Unless the person who equip a hho fuel cell on there car also placed a sticker stating it was getter better gas mileage. With approximately 100k people in the United States alone sporting a HHO fuel cell kit to increase gas mileage. There is a few things that helped them come to the conclusion to adding a hydrogen fuel cell kit on there present car.
What these hho fuel cell kits do is essentially enable a car to burn water as fuel. How this is accomplished is as we all know water is made up of two parts hydrogen and one part oxygen. A fuel cell uses the batter power from your car for the electrolysis to turn the water into a gas of two parts hydrogen and one part oxygen. This gas is called HHO gas,Hydroxy gas, Browns Gas and many other names. This gas is used as a fuel additive feed in through the air intake system on your car.
Once the gas starts traveling through your air intake system. It is then forced in to the combustion chamber and mixes with the gas. Using this hho technology as a fuel additive you can greatly increase the gas mileage of any car. This improved gas mileage also helps with emissions. Since hydrogen burns hotter then regular gas it will begin to clean out the impurities that are left from regular gas. Gradually over time the combustion chambers begin to get cleaner and cleaner. This in turn help extend the life of your car. I am sure we have all seen the commercial made to represent the sludge left behind in our cars. Wee can begin to clean this sludge out simply by adding a Hydrogen Fuel cell to our cars.
As difficult as it may sound building and installing one of these hydrogen conversion kits on your car is quite simple. After installing a Hydrogen fuel cell for your car you could expect many great benefits.
Increase Gas Mileage - get an increase of gas mileage from 30% - 120%
Tax break of $2,000 From your IRS tax rebate after installation
Extends engine life by an average of 70% all while cleaning the valves to help make it run quieter and cooler.
Change your oil less even though we would still recommend to change your oil every 3-6k miles
Very little time is needed to build a conversion kit and can be undone at any time.
This can be done on both gas and diesel engines
100% environmentally friendly, as the only byproduct is water
Renewable energy resource - hydrogen and oxygen are in infinite supply
This may sound like something you would only see on the sci fi channel from a futuristic show. Many people have found out how much of a reality it really is to build a hydrogen fuel cell. Hydrogen fuel cell technology was first developed int the mid 1800's. Scientist and companies have been working with this technology since the 1950's. We all want to make a difference for our kids and our grand kids. Well know we can.
When you are ready to purchase a HHO fuel cell kit. We recommend you start your buying process from Gas 4 Free. Another Great location to find these Hydrogen conversion kits is HHO Gas Kit Wizard.

HHO Dry Cells Hydrogen on Demand Fuel Cells Increase Mileage by Jason Tyler

Hydrogen gas kits | Hydroxy fuel | increase your mileage, better emissions | Convert to Hydrogen Hybrid Car, start saving fuel today. With a HHO Dry Cell fuel cell.
HHO Dry Cells Hydrogen Fuel Cells
What Hydrogen on Demand really means is the Hydrogen Generator produces HHO Gas which is used as it is made, the hydrogen gas is not stored for later use. This method of HHO Fuel production is safer then storing huge amounts of hydrogen.
We simple focus on the problem and over look the solution until this solution is so obvious it can long be avoided. The oil crisis is a perfect example of overlooking the obvious answer, which amazingly surrounds us.
With water making up around two-thirds of this planet, and is the answer to our current oil crisis. The technology to convert water in to hydrogen for use as a gas fuel has been around for the past 25 or so years thanks to Stanley Meyer, which who patented the HHO Generator.
This HHO generator is also known as a HHO Fuel Cell, the fuel cell is used to convert water into a combustible gas known as Hydrogen Hybrid Oxide, Brown's Gas, or Hydroxy Gas, named after Dr. Yull Brown, which is the one who discovered this gas compound.
Simply adding a hydrogen generator to a battery and making a few adjustments any internal combustion engine can run on HHO gas. For the ones placing a hydrogen converter on a fuel injected car. You will also need a device called EFIE, (Electronic Fuel Injection Enhancer). Since HHO gas is made simply from water this makes it safe and effective. Recent research has proved the by adding a hydrogen generator to your car you will get at least a 40% increase in gas mileage and a slight horse power increase, thus drastically reducing the emissions. You can bet the government is adding a few benefits to the users of a hydrogen generator by adding in little incentives. One incentive to using green technology is a tax break on this coming years taxes.
With in a few years the auto industry may be eliminating our demand for oil based fuels, this including the ethanol fuels. This is making our auto giants begin to redefine the automotive industry with the use of Hydrogen on Demand systems. The Hydrogen 7 was recently introduced by BMW which will be able to run on both hydrogen and gas. The Hydrogen that is used on the Hydrogen 7 is a liquid hydrogen which has to be kept cold. Many companies like Hydrogen Power Inc have installed hydrogen on demand systems in many vehicles. Hypower Fuel Inc has a new hydrogen reactor called H2R. The H2R retrofit insertion device can be placed in almost any car of vehicle.
With commercial made hydrogen on demand systems becoming a reality for the auto giants, but these same units can be built at home by any one with simple hardware you can find at any local hardware store. Hydrogen Generator kits are sold all over the internet today like Run Auto On Water. Some of the kits available produce better then others although one should put in a little bit of research before purchasing a kit over the internet.
With the acceptance of this new technology being a slow process, much like any new technology. People really hate change that has an economic impact on so many companies is dimmed upon or simply put not feasible. At-least not until the energy behind it is so strong it will finally be recognized as a solution that every one knows is right.
Since Yull Brown and Stanley Meyer did not live long enough to see this dream of theirs turn into the answer for fossil fuel consumption, but they did know this would be a reality that every one would accept. The time for Hydrogen on Demand is now for many purposes in cars, at home, businesses, schools and so may others.

Hybrid vehicles by Teguh Iman

A Brief Guide to Hybrid Vehicle By Teguh Iman
Hybrid vehicles were the stuff of dreams centuries ago. Nobody ever thought that creating a vehicle independent from fuel was possible. Fortunately with the continuing development of hybrid technology, more efficient and practical vehicles have been created. In the recent years the campaign for global warming has brought the attention of the public. Hybrid cars are now becoming steadily popular available in different types from compact sedans to SUVs.
Environmental issues are not the only reason that has made the public favor hybrid cars. Rising gas prices is also one of the major reasons why people prefer hybrid cars than conventional ones. Its also practical in suburban environments where you don't really need horsepower but gas mileage.
Hybrid Vehicles
There are different types of hybrid vehicles. They can vary from the simplest wheelbarrows to ships. No matter what form they are, these vehicles help in reducing greenhouse and noise emissions. Although these vehicles are expensive due to their unique structures, developments will continue to provide more alternatives to the public. These cars may not compare to conventional ones with a 200 horsepower but why would you need that if you only need 20 in the streets?
The simplest hybrid would be the single wheeled vehicles. These are wheelbarrows famously depicted with sails. This can be seen in Chinese sailing carriages.
The next is two wheeled vehicles. These are usually cycle type vehicles. The best example would be the Moped and electric bicycles. They are powered by an electric motor or an internal combustion engine in combination with the rider's muscles. This concept was also used in the 1800's by motorcycles. The electric bicycle can either be a parallel or a series hybrid Hybrid vehicles are not just limited to private cars. There are also hybrid power trains used by heavy vehicles. There are diesel or turbo electric buses, railway locomotives, heavy duty vehicles, hydraulic machinery and ships.
In ships a diesel engine drives the electric generator or hydraulic pump which in turn powers one or more hydraulic or electric motors. Sails and engines were early forms of hybrids which may be used again due to rising fuel costs.
More developments are continually being made in hybrid structures and systems for efficiency. Today buying a hybrid car is expensive but it will be beneficial in the long run. It does not just save fuel costs but also removes pollution that can harm the health of the people and take whatever it is left of the environment.

The Value of Hybrid Cars: Are They Right For You? by Kristin Armstrong

First introduced in the U.S. in 1999, hybrids have steadily grown in popularity. The growing accessibility of hybrid cars is making them a more common sight on the road. In fact, there are more than 20 available hybrid models with more on the way. Is one of these vehicles right for you?
Hybrid cars are known for their environmental benefits, and this is a very popular reason for purchasing one. However, they also tend to cost more, so they may not be a good fit for everyone. The decision to purchase a hybrid car should be based on variety of factors, not solely on price or the environment. With that in mind, here are some features to consider:
How does a hybrid car work?
A hybrid contains a small electric motor, a gas engine and a battery. The electric motor powers the vehicle at low speeds. The gas-powered engine kicks in at higher speeds and for swift acceleration. The gas engine and the act of braking generate electricity stored in the battery for later use. When you're sitting at idle, only the battery powers the car. The goal is to run the car as efficiently as possible, using the minimum amount of energy.
Better gas mileage
One of the most popular features of a hybrid car is its limited use of gasoline due to its dual electric/gas motor. Because of the battery and electric motor, you will probably use gas less often. Therefore, you'll fill up the tank less frequently. Plus, being able to travel farther on a single tank of gas saves you time.
Reduced emissions
Lower vehicle emissions are inextricably tied to better gas mileage. Since a hybrid burns less fuel for power, it releases fewer emissions into the air. This is a particularly appealing feature to hybrid buyers who are concerned about the environment.
Unique batteries
These specially designed batteries come with a longer life than traditional batteries. Many hybrid manufacturers offer 8-year/100,000-mile warranties on their batteries; testing shows they can last even longer. On the other hand, in the event the battery fails, it can cost between $1,500 and $5,000 to replace, depending on the manufacturer.
Competitive power
Hybrids used to be considered underwhelming in terms of power, but newer generations of hybrid drivetrains are packing more horsepower to give their vehicles competitive acceleration. Smaller hybrid sedans and compact vehicles can easily keep pace with their gasoline-powered counterparts. And if you're interested in bigger SUVs and trucks, major manufacturers have installed hybrid drivetrains that still allow you to haul plenty of people and gear. A hybrid may never be able to compete with the towing power or payload of a heavy-duty pickup, but they've come a long way.
Increasing space
Early versions of hybrids sacrificed interior room for the sake of big battery packs. Early hybrids in the mid-1990s were two-door, two-seat compacts, but newer generations of hybrid sedans have grown in cabin and cargo space. In fact, certain hybrid cars boast even more trunk space than their gas-powered counterparts.
Higher purchase price
A potential downside to purchasing a hybrid is its initial cost. Hybrid vehicles tend to cost anywhere between $2,000 and $10,000 more than their non-hybrid counterparts. The assumption is that fuel savings will offset this cost; however, this takes time. According to Edmunds.com, it can take anywhere from 5 to 25 years to save enough in gas to justify the higher purchase price, depending on the vehicle, gas prices and tax and sales incentives. Additionally, hybrid cars may not always be eligible for insurance savings, either.
Take the time to consider hybrid cars' pros and cons before making a purchase decision. Advantages include better gas mileage and the chance to own cutting-edge technology. But their higher cost and utility may not be a fit for your family. Take your time in weighing the costs and benefits so you can be sure you get the best vehicle for your needs.
No matter what you decide for your next vehicle purchase, be sure to get an online auto insurance quote from a company like Nationwide Insurance. Take steps to protect your family and your new vehicle. Depending on your driving record and the vehicle you purchase, you may also qualify for discount auto insurance.

The Green Car Revolution by Trivett Sydney

Eco friendly cars are all the rage as more and more manufacturers recognise the growing demand for fuel efficient vehicles. They're friendlier to the planet and kinder to your wallet when it comes to filling up at the pump. Meanwhile, the Federal Government's Green Car fund has ear marked $500 million in funds for "green car" initiatives, which should help boost innovation in the industry.

Is it a "green car"?

Eco friendly vehicles come in all shapes and sizes, but ultimately, their "greenness" is attributed to lower carbon dioxide emissions. Australia does not have CO2 emissions standards in place, but the EU is looking to establish a 120g/km of CO2 emissions on vehicles by 2012. This has auto manufacturers competing to meet and beat the emissions standards. And a number of different engine technologies have been employed:

Hybrid - probably generating the most hype when it comes to eco friendly cars is the hybrid - an petrol supported electric motor. Hybrid engines are primarily off electricity but engage the petrol engine when needed. Toyota has long dominated this market with its ever popular Prius, but more and more hybrid models are emerging in the marketplace including the Honda Insight. The Honda Insight will be hitting Honda dealerships ; this year.

Lean Green Diesel - diesel technology has been around for decades, and the word "clean" doesn't usually come to mind. However, modern diesel engines have come a long way from their sputtering predecessors. Today's engines employ "injection" technology to boost the efficiency of diesel fuel and maximise performance. Many of the most popular models now come with a diesel variant.

There are the usual suspects when it comes to diesel cars, think VW or Peugeot which has developed an innovative HDi "intelligent diesel engine", but perhaps more surprisingly are the diesel versions of some prestige cars ;, including the Volvo XC60 and even the Porsche Cayenne.

Electric Vehicles (EV) - Meanwhile, pure electric vehicles are emerging into the market with the Smart ForTwo coming out of concept and hitting showrooms in the US this year. These engines are powered by large lithium batteries that can be recharged with a plug in system that could one day be powered by renewable energy such as solar panels.

Alternative Fuels (bio diesel, solar) - independently, eco conscious consumers have modified their own cars to run off of bio fuel, such as corn oil, soy or even waste oil from fish and chips! The feasibility of full scale production of vehicles of this sort is under heavy debate, as many cite the potential of food shortages as a potential concern. However, countries like Brazil already supply 85% ethanol blend at the pumps. Meanwhile, other technologies are still being researched, including the much hyped hydrogen fuel cell where the only waste product is water.

Hybrid Cars by Teguh Iman

What You Need to Know about Hybrid
Many of us don't really think much about our surroundings. In fact most of us would buy a luxury Sport Utility vehicle in a heartbeat if we could. Although there have been incessant campaigns in global warming many of us don't really pay attention to pollution emitting out of our car's exhaust pipe's. That was until gas prices started to soar and people were desperate for alternatives. Hybrid technology was new and misunderstood in the past. Visions of weird boxes on wheels came to mind. That was until the Toyota Prius came out in 1997.
The first hybrid car did not look out of this world or too space age for the common person's taste. It was just a conventional looking car that saved on gas. The hybrid technology spread slowly. Sales from the Prius and Insight were moderate. Nonetheless, the public supported the technology which led to further improvements. The Ford Escape hybrid filled the gap between looking good and doing well. It had style and practicality which became the cue for luxury hybrid cars to add to the market.
Although hybrid cars are a good choice for today, is it really worth spending a lot of money to save the environment? And how do you know which to buy amid the slew of eye candy hybrids?
Why and what hybrid to buy
Hybrids run on electric power though their motors. These motors also serve as generators that recharge batteries on board to power them for mileage. This enables the vehicle to use less fuel which leads to lower costs and reduced emissions. The internal combustion engine serves as a back up for more power at high speeds. A computer determines which and how much power will be used from the motor and the engine.
Hybrids recharge through regenerative breaking. They are perfect for driving in the city where stop and go driving is common. In the city drivers don't really need a lot of horsepower.
Other motor companies have made hybrids to add to their credentials. If you really want to be practical a compact four door sedan will do well for you instead of a hybrid SUV that cost twice as much. Luxury hybrids may do well in the long run by saving gas but spending more than $60,000 on a practical car defeats its purpose.
If you want to go green, go simple. In reality you don't need to drive a 200 horsepower vehicle.

What You Need to Know About Hybrid Cars and SUVs by John Parks

In the effort to go green, a term we hear quite often is "hybrid cars". What are hybrid cars, and what makes the purchase of one desirable in the effort to conserve energy? For the less than savvy vehicle shopper or the inquisitive learner, a small amount of research can answer many questions.
A hybrid vehicle is defined as any vehicle that uses two or more separate types of energy to propel the vehicle. The basic operating truth of a hybrid vehicle is that the gasoline engine receives assistance from another source for extra power, which allows the engine to run with less gasoline.
Primitive types of hybrid vehicles were experimented with for many years before they actually became a viable means of transportation. Today almost every major car maker is producing its own version of the hybrid. Hybrids and SUVs are offered at most dealerships. There are government-offered tax incentives and dealership rebates to make the purchase of a hybrid car or SUV more appealing to those who are undecided as to the type of vehicle they may purchase.
The purchase price of a hybrid or SUV can vary greatly, depending upon the maker and the degree of luxury. Basic models begin at around $20,000, with the price of the luxury SUV going well over $100,000. Many hybrid car owners agree that the money they save in fuel more than makes up for the minimal added cost of purchasing a hybrid. Reports show that the fuel efficiency of the hybrid car is around twice that of a comparable conventional automobile.
Once you have decided to purchase a hybrid vehicle, what are some other things to consider? What are the differences in hybrid cars and SUVs, and what makes them stand apart? There are several variations of the hybrid operating system.
In the conventional hybrid car and SUV, gasoline is converted to energy by the engine and the motor, and then stored in the batteries, to be used during the operation of the vehicle. Braking converts energy to electricity and stores in it the batteries. When the car is traveling very slowly, or stopped, the battery takes over and the engine is at rest.
Another type of hybrid is the Plug-in. These are similar to the conventional hybrids in that both use gasoline engines and electric motors. Plug-ins use large battery packs, which are recharged by connecting to household electricity. Plug-in cars are different from conventional hybrids in that they may be driven distances up to 40 miles, without using gasoline. In short, Plug-in hybrid cars have the same benefits of conventional hybrids, but have the longer driving range of conventional non-hybrid vehicles.
The simplest hybrid is the Start Stop type. These vehicles have engine controls, which shut off the engine when the car slows down or stops. When the driver accelerates, the batteries power the starter motor, which quickly switches on the engine. This is the lowest cost hybrid alternative.
Whatever the type, hybrid cars and SUVs are environmentally wise purchases. They continue to become more popular as we continue in our quest to go green.
